What Macy's Announced for the 2026 Holiday Season

Macy's, Inc. laid out its plans in a September 24 holiday hiring announcement. The company is filling seasonal store and supply chain roles, with in-person hiring days on September 24, October 22 and November 19. Store roles are part-time, and Macy's says event times vary by location.

Now the honest part. Macy's named 10 top hiring markets for its own stores this year, and Houston made the list while Austin didn't. The hiring days still run at stores nationwide, including all three in the Austin area, but Macy's hasn't published a headcount for any of them. Treat October 22 as a good shot at a holiday job, not a guaranteed offer.

Macy's hasn't published a single pay rate, but every posting lists its pay range, so check the number before you apply. The announcement also names an employee discount, a 401(k) and early access to earned wages.

🗺️ Three Stores, Three Corners of the Metro

Barton Creek Square. The west side store sits where Loop 360 meets MoPac, a quick drive for South Lamar, Zilker, Westlake and Oak Hill.

The Domain. The North Austin store is on Esperanza Crossing, just off MoPac near Braker Lane. It's the easy pick for Crestview and Wells Branch.

Lakeline Mall. The Cedar Park store anchors the mall off US 183 near RM 620, close to the Lakeline MetroRail station. It works for Cedar Park, Leander and Anderson Mill.

Same Day, Different Event: Best Hire Downtown

October 22 is busy in Austin. The Best Hire job fair runs that same Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn by Lady Bird Lake. Want year-round work rather than a holiday shift? It's in our fall Austin job fairs guide. Veterans can also mark November 5 for the Hiring Red, White & You job fair.
