AUSTIN, TX — Job seekers with disabilities have a free, in-person shot at Central Texas employers on Friday, October 2, when the 2026 Texas HireAbility Capital Area Job Fair sets up at Education Service Center Region 13 on Springdale Road in East Austin. Doors are open from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and the fair lands right at the start of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Who's Behind the HireAbility Job Fair
The fair is run by Workforce Solutions Capital Area, the public workforce board for Austin and Travis County, with three partners: Texas Workforce Solutions Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Education Service Center Region 13 and Goodwill Central Texas. It's part of Texas HireAbility, the statewide campaign that pushes employers to recruit and keep workers with disabilities.
This isn't a first run. Last year's Capital Area edition used the same Springdale Road building on October 17, 2025, so the location is a known quantity for returning job seekers and case managers.
What You'll Find Inside
Beyond the employer tables, the organizer says attendees can learn about no-cost training programs, child care assistance eligibility, and financial support available while someone trains or searches for work. That matters for anyone who needs a certificate or a short course before landing the right job, not just a handshake at a table.
Auxiliary aids and services are available on request for people with disabilities. If you need an interpreter, a mobility accommodation or materials in another format, ask when you register rather than on the morning of the event.
