CEDAR PARK, TX — Nebraska Furniture Mart plans to hire roughly 700 people for its Cedar Park megastore, one of the biggest single hiring pushes the northwest Austin suburbs will see this year. The store is rising in the CedarView development along East New Hope Drive, near the H-E-B Center and a few minutes off the 183A Toll Road, and it is expected to open in early 2027.

🏆 What NFM Is Building in Cedar Park

NFM sells furniture, appliances, electronics and flooring under one roof, at a scale few shoppers have seen. The Cedar Park store will be the chain's fifth location and its second in Texas, after the Dallas-area store in The Colony. Size estimates have run from 1.2 million to 1.5 million square feet, either way one of the largest retail buildings in the Austin metro.

The Austin Business Journal reported in September that the company plans to hire 700 employees, including 600 full-time positions. Community Impact reported in October that NFM will also move about 400 current employees from its other stores to Cedar Park.

NFM has not published a role-by-role breakdown for Cedar Park. Early descriptions of the project named managers, sales professionals, customer service specialists, interior designers and warehouse staff, and the city's tourism office has mentioned tech experts as well.

Pay has not been posted either. The company's careers page lists competitive pay, benefits, paid time off and employee discounts. Treat that as a starting point and ask about base pay, commission and schedules when postings go live.
